Takeshi Kata es un escenógrafo teatral con base en Los Ángeles. Ha trabajado en más de 150 producciones a nivel nacional e internacional. En Nueva York, ha trabajado con The Public Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Second Stage, Vineyard Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Playwrights Horizons, Play Company, Barrow Street Theatre, y Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. A nivel regional, Takeshi ha trabajado con muchas compañías, entre ellas, Alley Theatre, American Players Theatre, Berkeley Rep, Dallas Theater Center, Geffen Playhouse, Goodman Theatre, Hartford Stage, Kirk Douglas Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, Nashville Opera, The Old Globe, Skylight Opera Theatre, South Coast Rep, Steppenwolf Theatre Co., Williamstown Theatre Festival, y Yale Repertory Theatre. Takeshi ha ganado un Obie y ha sido nominado para los premios Drama Desk, Barrymore, y Ovation. Es profesor asistente en la Escuela de Artes Dramáticas de la USC.
